Shampoo is not included

The brush arrives empty. Fill it with a shampoo made for pets — human shampoo is the wrong pH for a dog or cat's skin and dries it out. Most pet shampoos want diluting before they will flow properly through a dispenser; check the bottle.

Using it well

Work in small circles following the direction the coat grows, and go gently around the belly, legs and face where the skin is thinner. Rinse the coat thoroughly afterwards — shampoo left in a coat is the most common cause of itching after a bath.

Cats rarely need bathing at all. Most keep themselves clean and find the whole business genuinely stressful, so unless your vet has told you otherwise, a brush and a damp cloth is usually the better option.

Care

Empty the reservoir after use, flush it through with clean warm water and let it dry with the cap off. Shampoo left standing in the chamber will set and block the outlet.
