About catnip

Roughly one cat in three does not respond to catnip at all, and kittens under about six months usually do not. If yours is in that group it is not a fault with the toy. Catnip also fades — keeping the toys in a sealed bag between sessions makes them last considerably longer.

Using them safely

Cat toys wear out, and a chewed one stops being a toy. Check them over regularly, and throw away any that are splitting, losing stuffing or shedding feathers — swallowed filling and string cause blockages. Put string and feather toys away between play sessions rather than leaving them out.
