Rake Comb for Thick and Double Coats

A rake comb with widely spaced teeth, for getting down into a thick or double coat where a slicker only reaches the top layer. This is the tool for the dense undercoat that comes out in handfuls twice a year.

Using it well

Go slowly and in the direction the coat grows, with the weight of the comb doing the work. A rake is not meant to be dragged through a mat — work mats loose with your fingers or a comb first.

Care

Pull loose hair out of the pins after each session and rinse the head under warm water if it needs it. Dry fully before putting it away. Do not put in the dishwasher.
